The game itself can now play in resolutions up to 4K, and the camera can be zoomed in and out when you’re playing with the updated graphics. This remastered collection is a product for people who want to return to these games, but aren’t willing to let go of their high-resolution displays or the expected comforts of a logical menu system. I felt like a tourist as I re-acquainted myself with this world of partly goofy, partly self-serious campaign missions and characters, enjoying something from my youth that has since been tamed and made simple to visit. The strategy game, which was published for PC and Xbox 360 last fall but is also making its debut on PlayStation 3 today, continues the story of a parallel timeline in which World War II never happened and the United States and Soviet Union are at war, with the Empire of the Rising Sun's advanced tecbhnology playing a wild card.

Electronic Arts and TransGaming on Monday announced that the Mac version of Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 is now available as a digital download through the latter's GameTree Online web site.
